Dear Parents and Community Members:

The school year is well underway with our first quarter now complete. With report cards gone home and conferences held, plans have been developed to assist students who are struggling and compliments have been given to those students who are doing well. These conferences are one method of communication between the school and parent. As a school we will continue to look for ways to enhance communication with parents and the community.

One additional communication method that I will use is our district website. Each month I will post a message that will have relevant information for parents and community members. This will provide an opportunity to share positives, such as the recent State Championships in Soccer won by our boys and girls teams, and also any areas of concern or interest. I believe this will be helpful as we go through the budget season. I will also continue to look for ways to enhance our website.

I am happy to say that our building project is in its final stages. We are in the process of completing “punch lists” of small items that must be finished prior to closing the project. These include completing window and door trim work, balancing the heating system, and returning the school grounds to their pre-construction condition. These and all other “punch list” items must be completed prior to the release of final payments. This is a time-consuming process because there are many small items and few workers on site. All of the contracting companies involved with our project have been steadily working through any concerns we have. As a group they have been responsive and professional. When the project is done, our building will be in good shape for many years.

The holiday season is fast approaching. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a joyful holiday.
