CCRS DRAMA CLUB

IF THE SHOE FITS

A Note from the Director

Begging for a gang-PG, of course! The realization of becoming a team. Feelings of accomplishment. Excited replays to anyone willing to listen. These describe many moments from If the Shoe Fits.

In the spring of 2004 Drama Club embraced the idea of expanding to include the junior high. This proved to both a challenge and a blessing. Mixing a broad range of ages and experiences, rehearsing with a significantly increased cast, locating two or more costumes for most, finding and making the props independently, and then seamlessly putting together nine different scenes were just a few of the obstacles we faced and conquered together.

After hours of rehearsals and an elementary showing, the final rehearsal culminated with laughter and food (as always!). I will remember these young people as a group who learned the thrill of theatre through the experience of hard work. And becaue this is a fairy tale and we don't have to worry too much about realism with the show, may you, our audience, and the Theatre Fairy Godmother be pleased!

Expecting a Masterpiece,

Kathryn Burnam
