2011 NYSSMA AREA ALL-STATE MUSIC FESTIVAL

Six C.C.R.S. students have been selected to participate in the Zone Six Area All-State Festival. These students traveled to Plattsburgh High School one evening in September to audition for judges and were chosen based on previous NYSSMA scores, teacher recommendation, and their ability to sing an unaccompanied piece in four parts. Paige Garnot, Maeghan McDonald, and Katharine Tooke were selected for participation in the Mixed Chorus. Caitlyn LaPier, Alexandra Mesick, and Mikayla LaPorte were selected to participate in Women’s Chorus.

These student musicians will prepare their music at Chazy and travel to Beekmantown Central School to join talented students from other local schools for intensive rehearsals on November 18 and 19th, culminating in what promises to be an impressive concert on the afternoon of the 19th.
