Chazy Central Rural School offers students a variety of musical classes and ensembles for students in grades K - 12.

Chorus Highlights

Jr. High chorus has performs selections in 2 and 3 parts, and elementary chorus has learned concepts in staging, choreography, and lighting for the concerts. Senior Chorus will be performing in many different styles this year. All performance groups have improved their sound quality, diction, and overall performance quality. This year a select chorus comprised of Area All-State members, will perform popular, show, and jazz music.

Band Highlights

Instrumentalists play in the Elementary Band, Concert Band, and the Wind Ensemble or take first year lessons. Members must also learn concentration, discipline, and the art of working together to a common goal. Band members learn proper playing techniques, musical notation, musical styles and listening skills.

Several music students will perform in the *NYSSMA Evaluation Festival. Soloists will receive a rating and written comments regarding their performances. The NYSSMA festival helps both students and teachers work towards musical goals. Receiving a NYSSMA solo rating also provides access to all county band and chorus, as well as, Area All-State performing groups.

The CCRS Music Department presents four concerts during the school year as well as providing music for other school events. Concert Programs are an outgrowth of our District's commitment to give our young people first-hand experience in the arts, and to apply the skills and concepts which they have worked to acquire.
